26 degrees
I have been very lucky for the past few weeks. Lola, my mother in law, came to visit us from Sweden. Her presence is like a magnet to Gemma. They go out for a walk a lot! I am enjoying some personal space that I have been longing for.
Charity is my other helper who is working in the hotel but having her holiday at the moment. She comes every morning and stays until 5 or 6pm. A lot of miscellaneous household things are taken care of by her, and I am trying not to get too used to it.
-----------------------------------------------------
On the way to the parking, I felt the breeze swept through my face, and it was really nice and refreshing. The smell of air brought me back to Hawaii. I realised that it was more than ten years ago since I smelled the real Hawaiian air. I got in the car and saw it was only 26 degree on the climate display. Driving out of to the street, I was visualising that I was cruising my 4x4 on the Ala Wai Boulevard all the way to Waikiki.
The final destination was the subject often talked about between Mikael and I. We knew each other from Hawaii and had many wonderful memories. Hawaii was one of the places we wanted to end up eventually to completes the circle.
After we went to Euro Disney this summer, we also listed France in our retirement places. It would be an expensive country to reside, but we probably could pleasantly manage our life eating just baguettes and some having red wine and spring water.
I am still shocked sometimes how ten years pass by like this. I miss my life in Hawaii, my dear friend Kim, and many sweet & sour memories. In another ten years, I wonder where we will be. Gemma will be 14 and Oskar will be 11... I guess the past always goes so fast and the future takes quite a bit of anticipation. That's why they call present a gift.
Gemma is the one who often reminds me to live in the present!
