Greetings from the desert - a quick catch up!
More than a month of time has passed since we moved to Al Ain, UAE. During the past month, living is easy. We eat, play and sleep in the Hilton, and our hotel room is where we call "home". People are generally very friendly and easy-going.
The only thing that's hard to bear is the heat! It was around 50-54 degrees in the first month when we were here. At the moment, the temperature has "cooled down" and is about 39-42 degrees. Well, we are indoor habitats most of the time. I miss the crispy cold and fresh air very much.
Mikael works about 95% of the day and has only one day off. The weekend here is on Friday. The advantage of living in the hotel is that we still see him all the time, and we try to have our mealtime together as much as we can.
Gemma already started her nursery for 3 mornings a week. It's a really nice place with lovely staff and a great set up. She now even gets herself a little boyfriend called Mitchel - a very sweet boy!
The Lasik surgery I had done in London didn't go successfully, and my left eye had some "technical error". The top of my corneal was not sealed right and ended with wrinkles. The first 6 weeks of my times in UAE, I was going back and forth to a much better eye clinic in Dubai(times better than the London one). After lots of money were spent and an unforgettable 45 minutes of eye scraping torture experience, my eye is now on its way to proper healing. Have to wait another several months to find out the final result.
I got spoiled on my birthday this year. It was started with a cosy room-service breakfast in bed and ended with a late-night surprise party with Hilton staff and managers (plus a few new girlfriends I met recently). It was really super!
Some more of our photos during the past several weeks..:-)
Poor girl! I hope your eye will finally get better!
ReplyDeleteGemma is really cute. I especially loved the picture where she's dragging her suitcase :-)
Take care,
Eeva
P.S. And I'm sorry I missed your b-day *oops* ... won't happen again, I promise!!
