Gemma's Debut

It must be one of the best parts of being a parent, you get to go to the school concert. Gemma didn't seem to have any special feeling before the concert other than feeling tired of us who keep asking her how she felt about her Big Show every other minute.

The school was preparing the kids for the end-of-term concert for over a week. Gemma told me the role she played several days after she told her dad (and he didn't even tell me...)

We dressed up Gemma as required on the school note - plain white t-shirt and jeans. Ms Linda told us that Gemma knew all her lines and moves.

We finally saw her on the stage and shone like a big star(in our eyes!)  I looked like a pro journalist. Mikael was assigned to the video camera. Oskar was let cry in his car seat on the floor. Mikael would gently kick it and the rocking would soothe him for a minute.

I had my camera and kneeled down right in front of the stage. I became one of those obsessed mothers that I was afraid of.  I waved big time and blew kisses to Gemma - well, she liked it and blew kisses back to me too! (By the way, the V-hand sign you see in one of the photos was another mom! )

All the kids were so sweet and they sang songs after songs.

We were mighty proud of Gemma - she played Tuesday in the "there are seven days a week" song. Her moves were to turn her back to the audience to show her prop and shook her bon-bon like no tomorrow. She did very well!
