My Four Years Old Gem~

A few days after Gemma's birthday and my head still spins. We had 20 kids plus their parents came to Gemma's party.

This year we had the Princess theme(big surprise...) with Knights as well because we didn't want the boys to feel excluded. Our little princess decided to be Snow White because her favourite Cinderella outfit was a bit ticklish(from the fabric).

Upon the arrival, girl guests were led to our "beauty parlour" for a touch-up - brush, nail colouring, and such. The boys got to be knighted by Mikael if they passed a few fun "challenges". Our hotel food artist - Pupudo(from Sri Lanka) helped us to make the swords and shields for the little knights. For the adults, we had sparkling wine served at the bar.

A couple of games were prepared - passing the parcel, decorating the castle, princess parade and something else...I can't remember. We only got to play two games and Mikael got very exhausted (well hey.). We also set up karaoke with kids' songs but all kids were too shy to sing. Gemma's teacher, Ms Linda, was super cool and she dressed up like a princess to surprise Gemma!

When it was food time, everyone sat by the long table and Gemma got a royal chair to sit on. Her birthday cake was a shape of an Arabic castle (and pink, of course.) I smiled when the kids stared at the cake and all "oooooooo" at the same time. Gemma got to eat the castle door that was made of chocolate while her friends devoured the rest of the cake in an instant.

The lucky girl got loads of presents and her favourite one was a set of colouring crayons and markers. Until today, she hasn't opened all of her gifts. I really admire that because my curiosity is killing me. She just seems so content and in no rush to play with everything in one go.

Here some pictures from the birthday party.

  2. Ainsley had so much fun at the party! Thanks for inviting us! So sorry we had to go early. I was really in pain with my head ache and we needed to get grandpa to the air port. My little miss is still talking about the party! I hope Gemma had a wonderful day!
