Pigeon Maternity Ward

I have been wondering why there is this one particular pigeon hanging out on my balcony for days. This morning I saw her sitting in the flower pot(ashtray for smoking guests.)  Just when I walked a little closer to the glass door, she got frightened and flew away...and there, laid two little white eggs in the pot.

Well, I feel very honoured and proud that my balcony is chosen to be her nesting spot. She must be flying all around Al Ain, or perhaps in Dubai and Abu Dhabi...to find our home to be the most ideal place to spend her maternity period(or maybe she is from nearby.)

I smashed some breadcrumbs and put them on the balcony floor so she can eat when she will come home.  Who know the ashtray would become a birds nest one day?  I regretted that I didn't clean it up earlier. Should I clean it now? Maybe not with those eggs in it. I would keep my distance and hope she will hatch those two bird babies successfully.

A few questions I shall "google" after I upload this post:
How long is the hatching time for pigeons? How to establish trust with a pigeon mother who comes to lay eggs at your balcony? What's the nutrient needs for pigeon babies?

I will keep you updated with my guest at the pigeon maternity ward. Those birdies should know that I always take it personally when they come to lay their precious eggs around my home. I will even throw them a free mother & baby photo session!
