Chinese New Year with Charlotte
I like to call my friend Charlotte, "Xiao Leh", meaning little happiness, and in this Chinese New Year, she brought us just that! Visiting from Taipei, she stayed for nine days which was her whole Chinese New Year holiday away from work. She literally worked until the last minute before her flight. She also plans to start working just some hours after her return to Taipei. I think she fits the definition of a workaholic.
During her stay in Al Ain, we've had a fantastic time although I don't know if she feels the same. Well, as a mother, I can't be happier to see the joy, joy, joy of my daughter. Gemma fell in love with Charlotte almost in the very first minute she walked in the door. She loved her, even more, when she opened her suitcase full of presents. It's all about Hello Kitty and candies. The perfect present was a whole box of eatable Hello Kitty chocolates shaped like the characters from Sanrio. Gemma finished them all at once right after her Chinese New Year's eve dinner. I did say to her that she could eat as many sweets because that's what all kids do in Chinese New Year.
We have had so much fun and I realised that I didn't take any photo of her. I like very much the ones of her and Gemma, but I like the most of the one when Oskar cried his lungs out right next to Charlotte's ears (especially Charlotte=top career lady who wears Jimmy Choo and *dislikes children.)
*Dislike doesn't describe her real feeling to children, yet children hater would come too strong to destroy her personal reputation. She always says hat she likes my children quite much (and that's really all I care about at this point.)
