Greet The School Girl!

It's a big day today because it's Gemma's first day of school. She is now a KG1 student. A happy girl who is all dressed up in her uniform and going to the class Orange. What a milestone, a very proud mom I am! :-)

The first day of school seemed to be chaos for every other parent except for us. Our Gemma girl was extremely cool and ready for the whole event. No tears! There were children clinging on their parents' legs for life, and we could hardly hear the teachers over all the children's crying and screaming(parents are crying too...com' on, wait till you get home first.)

Parents were told to leave the school quickly after dropping off their children so we left. The last thing I saw Gemma was her pointing at her friend, Omar, who was in quite a distress. I was afraid that maybe she would soon crack and start crying too.

When we picked her up at 1pm, I was so glad to hear that she was calm and at ease. Ms Linda, her teacher, told us though it was normal, at one point, there were 11 kids crying at the same time. She seemed to be a very patient and well-experienced teacher. I felt lucky to have Gemma in her class.

During the car trip home, I spoked to Gemma whether there had been many children crying on the first day of school. She said that she didn't cry and she put her hands over her ears because the crying was too loud...

Hope it will be better tomorrow and the children will have some fun! Gemma looks like a big girl in the photo but she's not even 3 and a half. Too young for school...
