First Time in the Sand

Haven't been waking up before 7am, my first very trip to desert got me up around 4am-ish! With the very experienced camel guide - Farooq, we tumbled up and down in his 4x4 for about 40 minutes and finally arrived at the location where I was going to take some photos of a desert sunrise. Being a city girl all of my life, I felt very vulnerable to be in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by piles and piles of sand. The wind was so strong. Even my face was all covered up,  the sand still managed to get through my shades and get in my eyes.
Just about 5am, I saw the first peek of sun, and I was holding my breath for the rest of the scene to show up. Desert is a beautiful place, and I didn't think that I would ever say it before. After the sun came up, Farooq drove us to a camel farm - he said we must check out the newborn baby camels(around 8 or 10 days old). Baby camels are very sweet, but I can't imagine having one for my supper as the local people sometimes do.
The desert trip only lasted for a few hours, but I ended with a great memory that would last forever. I am going back again very soon to take photos of a desert sunset, and I truly can't wait...

Enjoy some of the shots I got...
